Family Time

I love that we live so close to my husband's immediate and extended family.  Collin regularly sees aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and great grandparents! Having been a military brat, I never knew what it was like to grow up in one place--know people from the time I was born.  Collin is going to get to experience that and I'm so excited for him.  He never has to be the new kid, never has to feel like he's leaving his life behind....

I think it's pretty cool.  Here's a few pics from his most recent visit with this great grandma and grandpa.

These look fantastic, don't they!? I know I personally enjoy side snapping diapers.  While I have not tried a Diaper Change diaper, I can say that side snaps are pretty fantastic!

SmartMom Teething Bling Review and Giveaway

Ok, so I know it's not fluff...but I love SmartMom Teething Bling just as much as cloth diapers!! And our fluffy bottom babies need some bling to chew on while they work on getting those teeth in!

A little over a month ago, I reviewed the SmartMom Teething Bling pendant.  I won't re-post my whole review, but you can check it out here.  (Hint: extra entry somewhere in there).  I will, however, give you a few highlights!

About the company: 

"We started our company, Smart Mom, LLC, in 2002 as a way to promote pretty and practical ideas for real Moms."  They found that their babies reached a stage where they wanted to grab a hold of everything and put it in their mouths.  Instead of swearing off jewelry and locking up their necklaces and bracelets, their solution was Teething Bling! 

The Review: So What did I think?

The Positives:

• Beautifully simple.  I don't wear much jewelry; but when I do, I prefer it to be low-key.  These pendants are just that.  There are so many color choices that you could really match one up with almost anything you wear.  And since they make the metallic ones, you could even wear them with something a bit dressier. 
• Safe.  I don't have to worry about Collin putting this in his mouth.  It's made out of safe, soft/rubbery material that feels good on his teething gums. 
• Sturdy.  The cord that the pendant hangs on is sturdy! Collin was tugging, yanking, and pulling with all his might and it didn't affect it at all.  
• Breakaway Clasp.  My necklace has been pulled off MULTIPLE times, but no worries about breaking, thanks to the breakaway clasp!
• Choices.  I love all the color options!
• Length.  The necklaces hang at a good length for Collin to be able to grab and play with it.  He's not clawing at my face or my neck, which I think is fantastic!

The Negatives

• Orginially, I had said this: "The only thing I wish was different is the breakaway clasp.  I would prefer it be a little bigger only because I have fat fingers that get in the way sometimes! " However, now that I have been using it for over a month, I realize that I rarely have to even mess with the clasp.  So really..NO NEGATIVES!

Semi-Wordless Wednesday: New Life

My little brother and his wife had their first child, a little girl, on Sunday at 12:02 am.  We made the 5 hour treck down to Evansville so we could be there.  We made it to the hospital at 12:15 am! Maysie was just over 7 lbs--so teeny! (Collin was almost 9 when he was born).

So congrats to them!

So, you may not know this about me, but I LOVE EcoMom.  I learned of this company when they were searching for mommy and daddy bloggers to spread the word about their new line of organic foods called Plum Organics.  I actually did a review and giveaway of some Plum Organics foods awhile back.  And since that review, I've become an avid supporter of EcoMom.

Now, one other thing I want to tell you about is their EcoPass program.  I am an EcoPass member.  What does that mean?  Well, for starters, I NEVER pay shipping.  Did you catch that? NEVER.  Also, I get 15% off their sale price.  So, for example, the diaper I am giving away costs 23.50.  But what do I pay? 19.98! It's awesome! And lastly, as an EcoPass member, you get first dibs at their Daily Deals! These Daily Deals are FANTASTIC.  Seriously, they are going to put me in the poorhouse.  

What are Daily Deals? Well, EcoMom selects a product or series of products and then sets them at a lower price.  There's only a limited number so you have to act fast.  Often the product or products are 40-50% off! It's 4:15 am...are you up?

Because I am.  My little one woke up at 12:30 sobbing.  I'm not sure if it's because he was in his own room for the first time but it took him a long time to calm back down.  I brought him back into our room and snuggled him.  But then he woke up at 3:30 crying and crying.  Last time this happened, he had an ear infection...ugh...I will probably take him into the doctor today.  Poor guy....I hate when he cries because of pain...I do not like this cry...it makes me sad :( 

So, mommy's gonna draw the winner  for the Rockin' Green bundle and little man is going to swing in his swing and watch Baby McDonald...
